Death Valley | 2006-current
An ongoing series of images captured by a Holga in my travels through Death Valley over the years. These images are gelatin silver prints made in the darkroom. Though Death Valley might not seem like the most exotic place to spend your vacation time, I highly recommend visiting at least once. Despite its name, it is really beautiful!
Cityscapes | 2007-current
One thing I love about traveling to different cities is experiencing the different atmospheres. Each city has a different feel depending on the buildings--or lack there of, the nightlife, or just the attractions that draw people to visit. This Cityscapes collection is also a series I hope to continue as I travel and capture the different styles and moods of each city.
Ghost Towns | 2009-current
This Ghost Towns series started with the idea of exploring small towns and why people decide to settle down at their desired locations. Soon, my explorations led me to wonder why people leave their homes. The answer was opportunity. It is human nature to be drawn to places were opportunity for success is high. The land, the scenery, the weather--they are all secondary. These images of ghost towns that many have abandoned are printed on metal--aluminum and tin to be exact. With a modernized process of a forgotten photographic process, I hope to show a moderized view of these forgotten lands.
